Your local dentist in Shadman

General dentistry is the everyday care that keeps teeth and gums healthy: regular check-ups, cleaning, fillings and quick help when something hurts. Whether you are looking for a family dentist or a daant ka doctor close to Jail Road, our team in Shadman looks after patients of every age, from a child’s first visit to grandparents with crowns and dentures.

What a dental check-up includes

  1. Your history. Any pain, sensitivity or concerns, plus medicines and health conditions.
  2. Teeth and fillings. We check every tooth for decay, cracks and worn or leaking fillings.
  3. Gums. We look for bleeding, swelling and pockets, the early signs of gum disease.
  4. Soft tissues. Cheeks, tongue and the floor of the mouth are checked, which matters especially for people who smoke or use paan, gutka or naswar.
  5. X-rays when needed. These show decay between teeth and problems below the gum.
  6. A plan. You hear what we found, what needs treatment now and what can wait, with the cost.

Tooth-coloured fillings

When decay is caught early, a filling restores the tooth. We use tooth-coloured composite fillings, which bond to the tooth and blend in, so fillings in front and back teeth are hard to see. Old dark fillings can also be replaced with tooth-coloured ones when they need attention.

Toothache and urgent problems

Toothache, a broken tooth, a lost filling or a swollen gum should be seen soon, before a small problem becomes a bigger one. Call the clinic and the team will advise you and offer the earliest suitable appointment. Deep decay that has reached the nerve may need root canal treatment.

Preventive care

Most dental problems can be prevented. Alongside check-ups we provide scaling and polishing, advice on brushing and cleaning between the teeth, fluoride treatments and fissure sealants for children, and guidance on diet, smoking and paan. A few minutes of prevention saves time, discomfort and cost later.

Dental care for older patients

As we get older, gums recede, roots become exposed and medicines can cause a dry mouth, all of which raise the risk of decay. We check dentures, crowns and bridges, and look after the teeth that hold them. See crowns, bridges and dentures.

How often should you visit?

Most adults and children benefit from a check-up every six months. Your dentist may suggest a shorter interval if you have gum disease or frequent decay, or a longer one if your mouth stays healthy.

Check-up and filling costs

A consultation fee applies to check-ups, and any treatment is costed and explained before it starts. You will always know the cost before you agree to treatment.

How often should I have a dental check-up?

Every six months suits most people. Your dentist may suggest a different interval depending on your gums and history of decay.

Do fillings hurt?

The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic first, so most people feel only pressure and vibration. Small fillings sometimes need no anaesthetic at all.

Are tooth-coloured fillings strong enough for back teeth?

Yes. Modern composite fillings are suitable for most back teeth. Very large cavities may need an inlay or a crown instead.

Is a dental X-ray safe?

Dental X-rays use a very low dose of radiation and are taken only when needed. Tell us if you are pregnant.

My gums bleed when I brush. Should I worry?

Bleeding gums are usually an early sign of gum inflammation. It is reversible with a professional clean and better brushing, so book a check-up.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Appointments are best so the team can give you time. Message us on WhatsApp or call, and for pain we try to see you as soon as possible.
